Breaking News: TV Nets in State of Arrested Development

February 11th, 2006 by Dorrk.com

We learned a while ago that one of the funniest shows on television, Arrested Development, was being cancelled at the end of this season. After that announcement, one very funny episode took several jabs at its network, Fox, (as well as other networks that have declined to rescue the show) and it completely disappeared from the schedule.

I just discovered that last night — after months of no episodes, and not in its typical Monday time slot — Fox aired the final episodes of the show in one season/series finale 2-hour block. If it weren’t for my TIVO-like recording service automatically recording it, I wouldn’t have known that the network attempted to shovel off its Emmy-winning comedy with such apparent disregard.

Others who missed it may want to check their favorite black market internet TV delivery venues for archived recordings of the finale.

Funny how TV is possibly better now than it has been at any other period in my lifetime, and this surge in quality is accompanied by unprecedented digital delivery possibilities, and even hip, young networks like Fox regard both trends with contempt. Fools.
