The Message of U2’s New Lyrics

November 25th, 2004 by PRN

Well Master E opened up a can of whupping ass on Matt and I as if he were the NBA’s Artest and we were a fat middle-aged basketbal, for talking about U2 sequencing without mentioning the lyrical content. Good point.

Here’s a review of the album written by another U2 fan and ordained cleric. It’s a pretty solid review. This guy knows his stuff and makes a strong case. Worth the read.

This was interesting:

Earlier this year, Bono reportedly asked the songwriter Michael W. Smith if he knew how to dismantle an atomic bomb. When Smith said he didn’t, Bono responded “Love. With Love.”

Kudos to Bono for being willing to be seen with a Christian rock star like Michael W. Smith and for being open minded enough to realize that M.W. Smith really is a phenomenally talented songwriter—although not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
