Still basking in the glow

The Red Sox parade happens tomorrow. I am geting up at 5 a.m. to find some place to watch the parade as 3 million people will converge on Boston to partake.

As I thought about Boston’s incredible World Series run, I think it is now the greatest moment in sports history. The Miracle on Ice, I held for the longest time to be the greatest single moment in sports history. Afterall, it was the evil USSR vs. the Americans. The victory coming in the last few seconds of that game was phenomenal and perhaps lucky. The Red Sox as a team and individually players broke records and did something really amazing by winning 8 straight games in the post season. It simply has not been done before.

Bostonians fully appreciate this. I have seen grown men on tv come to tears because their father never saw the Sox win and they have. The dominating win is something special. Again, I wish you all could experience this.

Shortly after moving here, I was devout Red Sox fan because this town is so much behind them. Again, I have never seen such devotion in my life from a fan. Boston simply has the best fans. I am off basketball, football and, well, hockey is just off thanks to the lockout. I am hooked on these Sox.
