Is this a long coming or is it just my imagination?
Finally.
I doubt that a Palestinian Authority member will ever be actually held accountable. But, at least, it is a start.

From the Weekly Standard,
“Al Archer, who directs the Lighthouse Mission, a homeless shelter where Muhammad occasionally stayed… was concerned that Muhammad was a terrorist and called the FBI in October 2001 to alert them. Archer was suspicious in part because Muhammad flew around the country while staying at the homeless shelter. “
Its pretty obvious this [...]

Here is a review of Michael Moore’s latest by Matt Labash. I’m not sure I could sit through this. Of particular note,“As Brandweek reported, since Moore’s film also won the ‘Cannes Prix Educational National’ award, voted on by hundreds of French teachers and students, it will now become part of their national curriculum, shown every [...]

Idiocy of the Press

October 31st, 2002 No Comments

One comment that the press keeps making over and over is that “if the public see U.S. troops being dragged in the street (a la Somalia), America may not stomach a war.” Let’s think about this for a moment. Does anybody really think that TV images of Saddam Hussein and angry Muslims torturing [...]

Well have you read those accounts by British and U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan? In the villages they go into, and when hanging out with the Northern Alliance, they are constantly propositioned by Islamic soldiers in drag who cannot fathom why the soldiers miss women. This is no joke. Man-love is greatly valued [...]

New evidence seems to be supporting the faint conjecture that snipers Muhammed and Malvo may not have been family, but, rather, er, “familiar” with each other in other ways.
There had also been some speculation that John Walker Lind enjoyed some gay fun in Pakistan, that several Taliban soldiers preferred boy love to tearing through a [...]

Better Than Haiti

October 29th, 2002 No Comments

For all the bitching about the the U.S., and our terrible racism and poverty, we must be, at least, better than Haiti. I just watched live TV coverage of 200 Haitians diving off a boat and scrambling onto the Florida shore with celebratory glee. Something tells me they won’t be immediately joining the Anti-U.S. protests.

Moore Stupidity

October 29th, 2002 No Comments

As I recall, Moore’s biggest gripe in Roger & Me (further explored in
his subsequent film, The Big One) was that working class people were being
laid off while the GM brass and Flint socialites were living in lavish splendor
without concern.
One of the many dumb contradictions Moore made during his Donahue interview last
night (an interview totally absent [...]

Ayn Rand

Greg,
You would probably enjoy Atlas Shrugged (except for the fact that it’s like, 1200 pages). She was a very talented writer and novelized her philisophy quite well. I found it totally engrossing. We should rent The Fountainhead sometime. I think it has Gary Cooper in it? Speaking of Michael Moore. I remember loving Roger and [...]

Michael Moore

October 29th, 2002 No Comments

Well, that was a telling little story you told. You know, it strikes me that Moore is from the Mid-West. A fat-slob, surrounded by conservatives (thus becoming a reactionary Liberal) and extremely provincial. If he really makes comments like “America is the most violent culture (hello! South Africa? Colombia?) and that [...]

Ideological Whiplash

October 29th, 2002 No Comments

I was about halfway through a fascinating documentary about the life of Ayn Rand which I taped a couple of weeks ago, when I stopped the tape to catch Donahue interviewing Michael Moore. The violent shift from Rand’s confident and inspiring individualist objectivism (she’s quickly emerging as an ideological hero for me) to Moore’s whiny [...]

Mike,
How dare you suggest I would sully my bronze-cast code of ethics with any activity as base and anti-capitalist as pirating failed television pirates through sundry internet means.
(Downloading as I type. Does this mean you’ll be setting a date soon so you can earn admission to the viewing party?)

There’s a fun article in Salon this week about a group of comics who screen failed TV pilots:
Salon: “An Alternate TV Universe”.
Which is all fine and well, but I want to call special attention to the description of one of the pilots for the benefit of all the Jack Black/Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson fans out there:
“Some [...]

It’s a Gas!

Good for Putin. He did the right thing, even though it’s sad that 90 hostages had to die. The body count would’ve been far higher in any other scenario.
What I’d like to know is can we use this gas the Russians used on the entire country of Iraq?

Did I ever tell you of Shannon’s and I great trip to Calgary back in the beginning of October.
Even when to a hockey game.
I had a great time on the ice.
Yeah.
Maybe the streaker was a member of al-Qaeda?

The Ruskies stormed the theater. I guess that is what you do. Accept the loss of life of innocent hostages but make sure you take out the bastards that are committing the crime.
Watching the media coverage of this event made my head swim. As we all know, I spent the greater part of my years [...]

If there are any cospiracy speculations it should be that this was sponsored by the DNC. This is the very thing that got Carnahan elected.
